Pashastin

Jim and I headed east in search of some dry sun-drenched stone. Leavenworth was drenched but there was little sun in evidence. We kept going east. At pashastin we found what we were looking for. Not shirtsleeve weather, but close enough!

Fantastic day! Pashastin far exceeded my expectations. Fun climbing on solid rock. The sandstone took some getting used to, but it was pretty darn cool. Having climbed at Smith recently prepared me well for it. The best climb we did was undoubtedly Martian Direct, but I can't help but love A-crack. Most of the climb was unaesthetic but the 10-feet of perfect splitter hand-crack at the top was well worth it. I swear it overhangs by 20 degrees or so. Good gear with a clean fall-line, and a two-handed jug to finish it off.
